So, let’s talk about diet

It’s one of the new fads, isn’t it? Diets. They’re all over. It’s the “in” thing, it seems, to be on the lettuce-free-no-huckleberries-until-noon-but-only-with-wine diet. (Wait. I might have mixed that up with something else…)

Anyway.

Here’s the thing about food. It really does matter what you eat. When you’re dealing with autoimmune issues, your body gets confused on what’s good for you and what isn’t. Cells, especially T-cells (an integral part of your body’s defense system) get bad information and don’t know what they’re supposed to fight. Add to that a lifestyle that encourages you to “go, go, go!” all the time (you know, sleep when you can, eat whatever your hand touches first, but get the job DONE!!), and the primordial soup for autoimmune diseases is concocted.

When your immune system has been on constant alert for too long, things start going wrong. EVERYTHING starts getting on its “last nerve”, even things that shouldn’t. Like foods, or even organs or systems within your own body!

YIKES.

Some of the common early warning signs are constant stomach ache, headaches, skin breakouts and rashes and chronic fatigue, as well as chronic depression and anxiety. More severe issues can be things like Multiple Sclerosis, Lupus, Crohn’s disease, and Arthritis. That’s by no means exhaustive.

Now. Just remember. TRUE change takes time.

When it comes to your diet, giving yourself time to heal, and your immune system a break, is key. We know some common food triggers now that seem to help just about everybody if they are at least temporarily removed. And that is always a good place to start.

Don’t forget that this is not necessarily a life sentence!

It really isn’t. But there may be some things that will continue to set you off, possibly for the rest of your life. But since we’re talking about your health, I think we can all agree that those things would be a good idea to avoid. Make sense?

Okay.

So let’s talk about change.

If you could get rid of that medication (you know, the one you’re on to manage the side-affects of the other one you’re on), just that one, wouldn’t it be worth looking at this whole health idea differently?

What if, what if… you could eventually get rid of the first one too?

How nice would it be not to feel like you’re dying a little bit every day?

We are dedicated to bringing you real solutions. Things that are practical, well-researched, and budget friendly. We’re not here to get you on another pill. We’re here to show you how to take control of your own health. Just like one thing didn’t get you into this mess, there isn’t just one thing that will get you out–but I KNOW that you don’t have to just survive with the diagnosis you’ve been given.

There’s hope for something far better.

I know. I was you.
